<strong> Nader Chaya </strong>

- Nader Chaya is a 3rd year undergraduate student working towards a Specialized Honour Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Health Science. He has served as the Senior Marketing Director of CARRM@York during the 2016-2017 academic year, and this experience has helped him expand CARRM’s reputation and outreach to a York University’s student body and Faculty. Nader is a firm believer that regenerative medicine will serve as a revolutionary solution to our current day medical dilemmas and predicaments. As such, he plans to pursue a career in medicine and intends to work in conjunction with orphanages in war torn and third world countries to provide essential health services. In his spare time, Nader loves to bushwhack, hike and catch up with some friends over a nice cup of tea.

<strong> Aly Fawzy </strong>

Junior Events Coordinator

- Aly Fawzy is currently a second year student at York University, studying Kinesiology and Health Sciences. During his first year at York, Aly was able to be a part of multiple clubs that strengthened his interpersonal and leadership skills. He held a volunteering position at Toronto Rehab’s Rumsey Cardiac Center, assisting patients with cardiovascular diseases in physical treatments and living a healthy life. He gained more Knowledge in rehabilitation medicine as well as strengthened his communication skills with various age groups. He was also able to obtain a research assistant volunteer position at the Clinical Psychology Department at York; working with graduate students. Aly started building a passion for research following that experience. Aly’s primary goal as the Junior Events Coordinator of CARRM@York is to organize large scale academic conferences and fundraisers that shed light on regenerative medicine and give it the attention it deserves as a catalyst for innovative disease treatment. Aly’s long term goal is become a successful physician and clinical researcher at one of Toronto’s biggest hospitals.

<strong> Robert Cheung </strong>

Robert Cheung

VP Finance

- Robert Cheung is a 2nd year student in the Faculty of Science at York University, and worked as a public accountant in audit and tax prior to joining CAARM. Majoring in Biology, Robert has been working on academic research in biochemistry at York. Robert is pursuing his lifelong ambition to becoming a medical doctor, after a brief summer with a emergency medicine team to destitute villages in China. Robert is a strong proponent of CAARM playing a key role for shaping students’ perspectives toward stem cell research, with its unique mission to increase awareness of regenerative medicine’s significant progress. Robert currently volunteers as a director at several not-for-profit organizations, and serving patients and medical teams at his local hospital’s Emergency Department.

<strong> Hafia Hussain </strong>

As a 2nd year student in Kinesiology and Health Sciences, she is working towards accomplishing Honours Bachelor of Science degree. She is very compassionate about both science and art. Hence, she has taken this opportunity to be able to use both the talents into something useful for the society. Hafia is very mesmerized by the rapidly expanding implications of research in the field of regenerative medicine, from restoring the structure and function of damaged tissues to organs. Hafia's dedication towards enhancing her knowledge regarding regenerative medicine can be useful to engaging and motivating other students into understanding the purpose of CARRM and benefits of regenerative medicine for the future. As a Junior Marketing Director of CARRM at York, she believes in prioritizing spreading awareness about regenerative medicine in a manner that helps individuals better understand the significance of it.

<strong> Beverly George </strong>

Senior Marketing Director

- Beverly George is currently a 3rd year Health Studies student at York University. Her involvement with CARRM@York began as a general member regularly sitting in on meetings and keeping tabs on the progress of the group. As time went on, her excitement and passion over the ever-growing field of regenerative medicine pushed her to take on a more active role in the group. Beverly is pursuing a career in a medical related field and as a firm believer in science and medicine, this platform will enable her to help educate and inform people about the upcoming field of medicine involving regeneration. She has faith that this new field of medicine will shed light on diseases that deteriorate tissues in the body and help advance researchers to ultimately find a cure. As the Senior Marketing Director for CARRM@York she hopes to organize and strategize in such a way that would effectively spread awareness in order for people to see how regenerative medicine can help heal, regrow or even potentially replace damaged tissues. People only need to be informed about the wide range of possibilities research and funding in this field can offer.

<strong> Sammy Al Rubaie </strong>

Sammy Al Rubaie is a 2nd year undergraduate student currently working towards completing a Specialized Honours BSc in Kinesiology and Health Science. Sammy looks forward to serving as the York Chapter’s Secretary to engage students in enlightening discussions about regenerative medicine. Sammy believes that regenerative medicine is a field that could spark great interest in the public should they learn about the unique solutions it brings to the table. Sammy plans to work in the medical field, and give back to the birth country of his father – Iraq. Outside of school and work, Sammy is very active in his community, whether it would be engaging in local politics or teaching boxing and Muay Thai to children at his local gym, Warrior Muay Thai.

- Prerna is an undergraduate working towards completing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology and Health Science. As an active member of the community, Prerna participates in many humanatarian events. Her passion for sport, medicine, and healthy lifestyle gives her the ability to spread the new growing field in medicine-regenerative medicine. Being a senior events coordinator, she aims to educate others about how we may save many lives in the future through stem cell therapy. This can be the driving force of a new revolution!
